WHY VOLUNTEER?
The No. 1 reason to be a firefighter is to serve others. Although trained to make wise decisions and prepare for emergencies, firefighters know the risk of injury or even death is present on every call. The willingness to take that risk to save someone else is truly the nature of someone with a servant's heart. A career as a firefighter is definitely a way to demonstrate care for others on a daily basis.
MAKE A DIFFERENCE
There are very few volunteer opportunities that offer a larger reward than serving your fellow man in the role of a volunteer. By becoming a volunteer, YOU can make a difference in the lives of those who live in your community.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Do you like kids? Do you like helping others? In the fire service, we're more than just 911 responders, we are educators. Join one of our fire prevention teams, or our support non combat team.
MEET NEW PEOPLE
Ask anyone who is currently (or a former) firefighter and you will quickly learn how the fire service truly is a family. Not only will becoming a firefighter grow your connections, but the experience of becoming a firefighter is for your entire family!
MAKE IT A CAREER
Many of our volunteers go on to become career firefighters. Becoming a career firefighter is no easy task, but with time, patience, hard work and training, it can happen to you.
TRAINING
Have you ever seen someone in need of medical assistance and had no idea what to do? By becoming a volunteer, we will provide you with extensive medical and fire training to help you make excellent decisions in the field and help someone in their time of need.
INTERN OPPORTUNITIES
Did you know that we have an intern program? That's right, our inters are full fledged firefighter/EMT's who respond to calls when they are not at school. These firefighters are working towards becoming career firefighters. Have you thought about becoming an intern?
